parsnips and sweet potato - together in soup???

I have some parsnips and sweet potatoes that if they dont get used today/tomorrow will get wasted. Can I roast them together and make a soup do you think? I can't imagine if their flavours together will work or not.

TIA

Oh yes - they will work beautifully together -they are both sweet and lovely. I wouldn't bother with the roasting - just peel, chop and cook (boil) till soft in stock (Just enough to cover the veg, no more). Add a chopped onion and some garlic if you like it. When all the veg are soft, blitz in a blender/food processor until smooth.

Yup and you'll be farting like thunder afterwards too.

Voluptua - is it just me ? - I don't fart after veggies. I only fart after alcohol. Wwird or just me?

Hmmm not sure about that one. I do like a good healthy veggie fart though.

Yes they should go well together. But I'd add some spices to avoid over-sweetness.

thanks for extra messages. I had a fair amount of alcohol this weekend (girlie weekend away) and I have been passing some very smelly wind and wondering why. I shall now blame it on the alcohol .

Yes,I do parnsips & sweet potato soup quite often. Also with carrot and ginger - I call it "Root Soup". Add an ordinary potato too, makes a smoother creamier texture.
