some sort of creamy sauce to go with roast chicken??

with garlic & rosemary roast spuds & some kind of veggies, although notsure what they'll be yet

or would it be yucky?

I was thinking about doing it instead of gravy with this weeks roast dinner for something different to try

Has anyone got any suggestions? Or would I be better sticking to the gravy?

I think creamy mushroom sauce goes well with chicken ( not sure if it would go with the garlic and rosemary though)

Def bread sauce - well flavoured with onion and clove. Delia's receipe (I am sure it will be on net somewhere) is good.

wow! I'd forgotten about having posted this this morning since I started painting!

Nigel Slaters creamy mustard sauce is yum - creme fraiche - grainy mustard (to taste) and if you have them some of those bottled green peppercorns and parsley.

Also gary rhodes does a nice taragon sauce which is lovely with chicken - saute 2 chopped shallots in butter add 225ml of white wine and chopped tarragon - boil til wine reduced by half add 350ml chicken stock reduce by half again. Stir in 4tbsp creme fraiche and bit more chopped tarragon - yum.

Bread sauce is lovely. You infuse some milk with onion/cloves/pepercorns/bayleaf, then strain it, add white breadcrumbs, and heat until thickened, adding cream and butter if you want.
