have accidently defrosted some shortcrust pasty, what can I do with it that's quick and easy?

I meant to defrost puff pastry and the recipe won't work with shortcrust. I'm not in the mood for making a pie or anything proper, the dc's could help too, any ideas?

Roll it out, smear with veg and cheese for a puffy pizza?

Jam tarts? suitably effort free

I made little feta cheese, sundried tomato(from a jar) and basil tarts yesterday with some leftover pastry. You could use any cheese. They were delicious.

Upside Down Tarte Tatin

make a caramel with 125g sugar and a 120 ml water, heat over medium
when it's starting to brown and thicken pour into an ov/proof dish to cover bottom of dish

put slices of apple in pretty pattern (or not) on top of caramel

dot with butter

put pastry over top

Cook for 20 mins at 180 degs, then turn down to 90 for another ten.

When cooled to warm, put plate on top of dish and flip over (over a sink!) to bring tart right way round.

This is really good

Aha - you've reminded me that somewhere going dusty in my kitchen is a mini tart tin from that company that do kitchen parties - anyway, dead easy and can get the dc's to help tomorrow. Thank you all.
