Probably a yes but just want to be sure it's not going to be weird if I pop a pastry lid on it.

Cheers

I would do it, probably a better grade of meat than you find in some of the steak pies on the market!

MissisBoot · 01/02/2009 10:59

yes

Overmydeadbody · 01/02/2009 11:01

yes

tumtumtetum · 01/02/2009 11:09

yes.

overmydeadbody - a pie!

Is everytone getting more frugal there are a lot of leftovers threads around at the moment. Is great i just wonder what people did with leftovers before!

Not directed at you lucysmum just in general

My mum taught me to freeze/make a soup/curry/pie from left overs.

lucysmam · 01/02/2009 11:25

no problem even if it was tumtumtetum, I always freeze mine to use at a later date. That's why I thought I'd make sure before popping a lid on it & bunging it in the freezer

Thanks all, will pop a top on it later on when the lo stops shouting me for various things when dad's home from footy

I do that a lot. And its much nicer second time around. Make pastry from flour fat and water. Put in cooked meat. Put in onions and any random boiled vegetables. Pour on thick gravy. Put pastry on top. Bake till done - easy!

lizziemun · 01/02/2009 19:21

Yes.

I normally put in any frozen veg i have then cover with pastry made from suet (like you would make dumplings). I sometimes add some thyme to the pastry as well.
