It's just drinks & nibbles so am taking some vino but would like to take nibbles too, anyone got any easyish recipes or ideas, I would like to make something rather than just take the usual Kettle chips [smil]

I tried making cheese straws before & managed to break most of them while taking off the baking sheet I might try them again though as they do look yummy!

Put more oil on the tray!

(or was it just an excuse to eat the broken bits? )

Maybe you were making them too long?

Spiced mixed nuts are nice - Nigella does a great recipe and a little different from just a bag of roasted peanuts.

Easy to do too - can?t burn or ruin anything very easily.

Cheese straws are the yummiest thing ever (sadly pretty bad for you too).

They don't have to be straws though. You could do circles or squares or stars and hearts if you had some cutesy pastry cutters.

Tilly, I think I was trying to be too clever & made twisted sheese straws, they looked great when they came out of the oven but were so fragile. It was a shame to throw the brokwen bits so yes, I did eat them[
Lemon, the spiced nuts sound nice too. We have got a bag of roasted peanuts left over from Christmas so am going to try those.
Any more ideas out there??

I like the idea of cutting out the cheese straws plantsitter, I think I'll try that.
