roasted butternut squash do i par boil first or just wack it in the oven?

Can do either - either peel and chunk with oil or straight in with skin on no oil and roast that way

And next time to make it even easier halve it deseed it drizzle oil and put in oven, then scoop out when it's done.

I just chop into largish lumps and salt and oil it and whack it in the oven. If you're making soup with it, I often find you can liquidise the skin with it. It's much easier to get out of the skin when cooked if you prefer not to though.
