Why don't you peruse the MN recipe section. There are quite a few to get you started at least.

And google recipes as well.

I personally wouldn't buy a book just for biscuits, but maybe a cake and biscuit one if you do a lot of baking.

If you were inclined to buy a baking book, I'd highly recommend the new Rachel Allen 'Bake' book - made the banana bread from it this week and it's lush.

don't think my funds stretch quite to new books unless they're on offer at the mo but will have a look for that one on amazon, cheers

Check out charity shops, always loads of cook books.

Our best biccy book is the "WI book of biscuits" - probably out of print now but if you see it in any bookshop / charity shop buy it! Loads of fab recipes that really work - although we have tweaked a few too to add stuff like dried cherries which may not have been around when it was published - can't even give a date as that page seems to have gone AWOL.

thanks for the ideas, I'll have a scour of the charity shops in town when I next go.

Will keep an eye out for the WI book as well SexyDomesticatedDad, in fact my MIL may have it or her mum

There is a lovely recipe on BBC recipes. by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and Whizz/Fizz someone.
Search for Chocolate chip cookies.
Very very easy (I made them) and very yummy.

I personally wouldn't buy a book just for biscuits when there are so amny in other books and online.

see that's why I wasn't sure, but I spend ages flicking through my little book to find the recipe I want or kidnap the laptop & take it for a wander to the kitchen when baking & it drives my oh loopy

Will have a look for the recipe you suggested later on . . . should be bakin lo's birthday cake but very hungover & can't be bothered at the mo
