Tortillas a month out of date - can I eat them?!

Had planned to make fajitas tonight, have all the ingredients, went to the cupboard and the sodding tortillas have a best before date of 15th Dec 08. I know it's a month ago but I wondered if they would still be ok? They are sealed and haven't been opened yet (Old El Paso ones)

check them for mould and smell them. when they go off they smell a bit funny.

If they were still sealed & there's no mould I would have thought they'd be fine

as a tip - we put the tortillas straight onto the gas flame and 'toast' thema bit - use a pair of tongs to flip them over - it only takes a couple of secs - should be warm, still soft but with a better taste - at least thats how we all like them. often have old ones to use up - thats what DSs are having for tea tonight!

will give that a try next time, thanks
