Hi,

I am making a fruit salad for Sunday lunch tommorrow due to a large volume of fruit in the basket.

What do you use as the "juice"?

Thanks

Normally some orange juice from a carton, or you could squeeze and orange if you have one.

I just pour a bit of orange juice (out of a carton) over the top. This stops any fruit that is likely to go brown from doing so.

Are you having it for pudding, or as your actual lunch?

You could use fresh apple/grape/orange juice - all work well.

I find the oranges often generate enough juice on their own. If not, a splash of orange juice.

Pudding.

Trying to do something healthy as both me and DH need to lose some weight and DC's have over dosed on sweets and chocolate over the festive period.

Any other healthy dessert ideas??

Splodge of cold custard on the top is yummy.

Baked bananas with a tiny bit of chocolate? Grilled pineapple slices with honey. Yogurt, I get good quality plain yogurt which is very creamy and add fruit or other toppings.

½ cup fresh lime juice (about 4 limes)
½ cup water
¼ cup granulated sugar

Combine lime juice, water and sugar in a small saucepan and mix well. Simmer for 10 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Let stand until cool.

low calorie lemonade or ginger ale (depending on which fruit used)

whatever fruit juice we have on hand, and lately i've taken to adding a splash of grenadine too - a big hit with the dds cos it makes it all pink

Pineapple / apple juice is nice.

My mum adds a bit of malibu to adult fruit salad.

I use freshly sqeezes lemon juice an a little bit of sugar.

My sister Bil adds some rose water or some orange blossom water which is delicious too.

Will make again for sure.
