Hi, would be grateful for any thoughts - am taking my ds to see my Dad, and will take Sunday lunch with me, but we are actually driving on Saturday afternoon. What on earth can I take that will be safe/possible to transport and eat at the other end? I would rather not do cheese sandwiches but maybe that's the best option??

steak pie, a proper one from the butcher and some microwavable mash and veg

we do it nearly everytime we visit my dad and he LOVES it

bung steak pie in oven and mash & steam veg in microwave, job done

do you mean you will travel sunday afternoon? or you are staying overnight on saturday. What age is he?

If the first, you can buy thermos bags which are great for storing food in, you can make your own little sunday lunch? or a picnic, DD loves a picnic - mini babybels, mini sausages, yoghurt, breadsticks/french bread, grapes, peice of home-made quiche (we also do ham but she is ok with this from time to time re salt content imo).

If the night before, just make something when there? Can you not make something when there anyway? or is that too awkward? Any reason why he cannot have sunday lunch with you? Or is it going to be restuarant/salty food?

Oh I am sorry. I completely misunderstood - you are taking Sunday Lunch for ALL OF YOU! right. OK, I thought you meant DSs lunch. Ignore me then. I am dumb today. (and i spent ages typing it!)
