Not a bloody thing!!!

Tell them to bring food with them. Or at leaast some of the food?

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 29/12/2008 18:03

LOL, should I add that I have a ten week old baby and a 2.8yr old toddler as well

I would ask them to bring stuff but they have a 3hr drive and would be tricky transporting things.

Get everyone to put in for massive chinese banquet ,no way would I be doing any catering at such short notice .

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 29/12/2008 18:07

That is a good idea, big pot of something with another big pot of rice. Followed by ice-cream

Excellent idea ComeWhine!!!

They can't be expecting you to cater for them surely????

Shoshe · 29/12/2008 18:18

I feed about 30 for a works thing every year (not NYE)

I always do a curry, and a chicken casserole in the slow cooker, dont bother with rice, just loads of french stick, everybody helps them selves when the want to.

moondog · 29/12/2008 18:56

Of course they can bring something!
The length of drive makes no difference.
Delegate
'Could you do the booze?'
'A cheeseboard would be great'

and so on.

unfitmother · 29/12/2008 18:57

Pizza or a chinese!

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 29/12/2008 22:18

They have kindly offered to bring drinks so that is sorted.

I've decided to let Waitrose do the catering and have ordered a pile of vol a vents etc that i can just shove in the oven. Have explained it will be a drinks and nibbles party.

Normally this wouldn't bother me but I am feeling particularly lethargic at the moment.
