Any whizzo ideas please. I want to put homemeade mincemeat into kilner jars and make festive to give as gifts. On the label I would like to put serving suggestions, any ideas, ie. icecream yogurt etc or should I scrap the kilner jar idea and make mincepies.

Make up some vol au vent cases, push in the middles and fill with mincemeat, pop in the warm oven to warm through the mincemeat, then take out and serve with a blob of extra thick double cream...delicious.

Stuffed apples? Stuff the apples with the mincemeat

My Mum just put little dollops into filo pastry and wrapped them up like mney bags, baked them. Nw they are cool, lovey and crispy, will be nice with cream.

good ideas! I've done the same but was a bit hesistant as I dont think some people can be bothered making the pie. I like the stuffed apple idea. I'm assuming to be baked.Could serve with poached pears?

ice cream!!

Good vanilla, soften, swirl in mincement, back in freezer to firm up a little and serve. Even better if you loosen the mincemeat with a little extra alcohol (rum, brandy etc)

bread - make normal bread dough and after first rising, flatten out, splodge mincement in thick layer, fold over a few times, pop in tin and rise for second time before baking like normal bread - not too hot oven as burnt mincemeat is nasty

puff pasty mincemeat swirls. Roll out rectangle of puff pastry, cover with thin layer of mincemeat, roll it up like a swiss roll. Chop into 1 cm circles and brush with milk/beaten egg, bake in oven. When taken out and warm, sprinkle with a little brown sugar and cinnamon. Can freeze before baking too and then just pop a couple in the oven for an easy pastry for morning coffee

Don't forget there is either suet or suet subs for vegetarians in mincemeat so it ought to be warmed really, otherwise will leave a horrid greasy layer in your mouth.
