Can you count juice from concentrate?

If not is juice not from concentrate the same as fresh?

I would think you can count juice from concentrate

I always go for the non-concentrate variety, although it is a little more expensive. Check the labels if in doubt and, unfortunately, the price is usually a good guide to what you'll be drinking.

Concentrates are made by taking the fruit juice to a high temperature and evaporating off the water resulting in a thick syrup. It's then packed and shipped. At the bottling stage, the water is added back. The sole reason for concentrating fruit juice is reduce costs!! To quote the internet - it's definitely not in the best interest of the fruit or the person drinking it... says it all really!

"Not from concentrate" is not the same as fresh... it's often juice that's been frozen before shipping to the UK.

"FRESH" is the magic word - the juice has come from fruit that has been brought to the UK, squeezed locally and bottled.

This is a good link

I think that it has no difference (apart from taste imo) there was a thread were a poster said her dh worked for an ad firm and was involved in the ad campaign for a new range of juices, and when asked why they didnt want to big up the benefits over from 'from concentrate' juices the juice manufacturers sheepishly admitted there were no benefits

this is interesting

Fresh squeezed juices are certainly nicer than cheaper from concentrate ones, and I would imagine they can be better for you. But for 5 a day, the principle is quantity and variety eg tinned and dried fruit and veg count as well as fresh.
