Usually I buy chicken that's ready to cook but DP bought some from the butcher without asking them to clean it and Im not sure if the giblets are still inside or not. What should the inside of a chicken look like?

don't worry

just to absolutely clarify- more the giblets wouldn't be attached to the inside of the cavity- There are dark red areas by the opening.

the giblets would be inside in a plastic or paper bag. you just reach in a pullthe bag out

MMj is right.

They are already separated for you and put in a bag. Do you know what giblets are?!

staryeyed · 15/12/2008 17:16

Yes I know what they are I just have no idea what they look like.

the giblets are the neck, the liver, and other assorted bits. it's not red bits near the opening!

Chicken liver is very nice.

Giblets make good gravy apparently.
