I wouldn't cook it on low for more than about eight hours - won't completely ruin, but be too mushed I think. I have a timer switch (from B&Q) I plug mine into so it comes on when I want if that's any help. Six hours on high or a combination of high and low over the shorter period will be OK too HTH

Don't see why not. No different to putting it on early morning and having it for a late dinner.

I put a casserole on last night in my slow cooker, last night I put in the beef, stock, garlic and tinned tomato and pearl barley. This morning I put in swede and carrots. Lunch time I added some more pearl barley and some whole small onions.

it is looking good But not finished yet and I will not be eating this until Sunday/Monday.

I shall cook until Sunday morn and then turn of and reheat it Sunday night to eat. A casserole is good with a long slow cook and even better when reheated

i shall add dumplings and serve with mash potato and savoy cabbage.
