I love tuna but I tend to just fry with some salt and pepper and olive oil .

It is tasty but I know it could be more interesting

pan fry with olive oil and butter, serve on Nicoise-type salad (cos, tom, warm baby new pots & green beans, black olives.)

looks good but v easy.

nicoise is delicious.

one of our bog standard dinners is to marinade tuna in some soy, sesame oil, chilli, ginger and garlic for about 30 mins then griddle or pan fry and serve with stir fried veggies and rice. quantities of ingredients depend on what mood i'm in sometimes squeeze in some lime juice as well. also nice marinaded in some soy and Chinese five spice paste (Barts spices do jars)

am similar to holiday queen only i used puy lentils and the soy sauce, lime juice, chili, garlic, ginger affair over them

if its seared on outside and almost raw on inside its a winner in my book

I like to cook it like a steak on a hot griddle to medium rare. Then serve as vaguely healthy fajitas with wraps, guacamole, tomato and chilli salsa and low fat creme fraiche/yoghurt.

skewers with cherry tomatos, peppers onions and courgettes, make up with a vaguely thai marinade and then griddle

If it is REALLY fresh then serve as sashimi with pickled ginger, wasabi and soy.

Nicoise.
Griddle like steak, rare/medium rare, serve with garlic butter sauce, chips, fried tomatoes and peas, mushrooms, just like steak...thats what I do, as DH has steak and I don't eat it, have tuna instead!! Mmmmmm might have that tonight

PavlovtheCat · 28/11/2008 07:39
