Novelty Cakes - What would you do if you were asked to make a 'yummy mummy' cake?

I need creative ideas. It is my nieces birthday and my sister in law wants a cake. My niece is 8 months pregnant and sil wants a 'yummy mummy' cake but doesn't have any ideas on design!! HELP

I agree - variation on flowers or a bag of some sort sounds like the best bet.

Quite aside from the fact that I hate the phrase, you can hardly make her a cake with a big bump - I would have burst into tears if someone had presented me with that when I was 8mo pg! A hippo, perhaps ?

I googled baby shower cakes and got lots of strange (american) novelty cakes - bellys were probably the least strange!

suggestion for yummy mummy cake: a high pile of fairy cakes, iced in white and decorated with pink and blue icing sugar flowers, Nigella-style. About as simple and effective as it gets for the non-domestic goddess

Shaped like a 4x4, perhaps with a pair of Oakleys atop it.
