i've lost 1/2 a stone in 2 weeks using the slim fast plan, although i quickly subbed the morning shake for a bowl of cereal. So i need ideas for a 200 calorie lunch so i can stop having a shake for lunch. i only have access to a fridge and a kettle so cant be heatable. i don't really want to have another bowl of cereal for lunch which is all i can think of right now.

what can i have?

3 ryvita (about 37 calories a slice)so about 110 cals
low fat cheese spead (about 30 calories)
sliced tomato (free - I think)
green salad (free)
1 low cal cup a soup (about 50 cals)

I have this every lunch time!! Lost over 2 stones now.

Tinned bean salad from Sainsbury's. Sounds revolting but actually very tasty and incredibly filling - often don't finish it. 150 cals.

that sounds yummy - thanks can keep it in work too, a tub of cream cheese and the ryvita.

i'm very bad at bringing lunch so end up buying sandwiches downstairs in our canteen and then adding crisps and chocolate, the shakes have helped me see that i don't need all that food at lunch time and that by not going down i don't buy the snack for later too!!

any more ideas?

sounds daft but does that salad have a ring pull?

Weightwatchers do little tins of tuna (packs of 3) in Coronation type dressing or tomato and herb etc. They are yummy with crackerbread and salad. All nice and munchy.

Also I love Baxters vegetarian soups. The carrot and butterbean and carrot and coriander are lovely.

Or get some Nimble bread, half fat cheese and some wafer thin ham and have a toasty. That's a good one too

Well done on losing the 1/2 stone too! Keep going!

not in any way daft...it doesn't.

thanks i'm really pleased with the loss hoping to continue i have about another 1.5 stone to go til i'm my pre-baby weight which is my aim, hoping to do it by next summer.

soups will be good for the weekend, when at home. like the sound of tuna too will have to actually go to the supermarket rather than internet shopping i think.

Make sure you're getting the vitamins and calcium to replace that part of the shake, too. Very important on a reduced calorie diet.

good point - i have to really watch my iron levels as i am always border line aneamic (sp).

Got some of the weight watchers tuna and cracker breads ready for work next week.
