best way to water soup down without losing the flavour??

Okay I am doing a sweet potatoe and lentle soup. I am not working from a recipe..
I taste fab.. but is a bit too thick still.. I don't want to lose any of the flavour.. so what is the best way to water down please

Tinned tomatoes maybe, or some chicken or veg stock.

I would put a bit of milk in - then leave to stand for a while. is it still warm? I always think that helps flavours to stay together.
