Just made a chicken casserole for later, will be eating about 5pm.

Can I just leave it in the oven on a low heat, gas mark 1 or 2, for 7 hours, turning it up to gas 4 for the last hour?

If not, what should I do? Leave it out then fridge when cooled then cook later??

Thanks

well beef is ok, i spose chicken should be - if it was low enough. and people cook chicken in a slow cooker.
go for it.
come back and tell us how wonderful it was - and it will heat the kitchen up

that has encouraged me to cook my beef caserolle now

Thanks slarty. The colmans packet mix said suitable for slow cooker so it's kinda the same??

If I don't do that, what should I do about cooking it?

Actually, think I'll just cook it really slowly all day, at least the chicken will be cooked!!
