Did you find them tasteless? I did and so did the children. Will we adjust or should I give up and go back to the ordinary ones?

Yes, they don't taste anywhere near as good and dh revolted. We went back to the normal ones!!

My view was that unless you eat them alot it doesn't really make a big/any difference in the grand scheme of things.

Which brand did you try? I don't like ones with artificial sweeteners in so I buy Heinz now - took a few tries to get used to it but I like them now. Worth persevering I think.

PuppyMonkey · 31/10/2008 13:14

I have the reduced salt etc ones all the time and can't tell the difference..

FeelingLucky · 31/10/2008 13:17

Yes, the Heinz ones. I prefer them.

We have these as DH has high blood pressure and we try to avoid salt where possible and the DCs have never tried anything else until recently I bought some Heinz when I couldn't get to Tesco (we have the Tesco own brand ones) and they asked when we could have the normal ones back. I don't eat beans much but when I do the reduced taste fine to me.

MrsMattie · 31/10/2008 13:18

DS likes them - doesn't notice the difference. Me and Dh think they're horrid.

Heinz is what we tried TPL. I have 7 more tins so we will see what we think after we've eaten all of those!

dont like them

The Tesco reduced salt and sugar ones seem to have changed their taste recently - it's horrible. We went back to the full fat ones in protest. I even rang up Tesco and told them the beans were off cos that's what they tasted like. The Asda reduced ones don't seem too bad.

TheProvincialLady · 31/10/2008 13:35

I know it completely defeats the purpose but the first few times I had them I put a blob of HP Sauce on to give them more flavour

LoolaBoys · 31/10/2008 13:36

I use the Tesco ones, and I now can't eat normal ones, I fond them far too sweet

wessexghoul · 31/10/2008 13:36

I found them a bit odd at first, but, as with giving up sugar in tea and coffee, you get used to it and now the normal ones taste weird to me. (We have Heinz).

PuppyMonkey · 31/10/2008 13:38

I use the Tesco ones usually too. Sometimes Heinz.

Regular beans don't actually tatse of much when you think about it... can't see what the problem would be...

chloemegjess · 31/10/2008 14:41

I tried the tesco ones yesterday and thought they were fine
