Do i have to add anything to cooking chocolate to dip and make choc apples ? x

We`re off in caravan for halloween ! and amongst other things i have some apples and cooking chocolate-was going to dip the apples in melted choc and add sprinkles, but do i need to add something to the choc to make it work-oil or syrup possibly.
Dont want to end up with a gloopy mess !

Oh yes- any ideqa wjere i might get some sticks too ?

I got a bag of lolly sticks from a local kitchenware shop.

I would be tempted to add a couple of tablespoons of syrup to the melted chocolate as it can be a little bitter.
