I should really go to Morrisons but it's too cold and wet, and DS3 is asleep now anyhow, could pop down the shop when I get DS1 from school - but they don't have a huge selection of stuff (and are expensive).

I have

Red lentils
Pasta
Rice
Sausages (although we had those last night as well)
Bacon
Mince
about 5 medium sized mushrooms
Stock
Various herbs/spices
Tin of Red Kidney Beans

No eggs, no onions, no tinned tomatoes (although all 3 can be purchased down the shop)

make a big chilli with the mince, beans and bulk it with the letils, serve with rice

or lentil and bacon soup

pasta bolognese

oh and I also have all the stuff needed to make bread in the bread maker.

no, i don;t eat bacon! but i have heard of lentil and bacon soup have a look in recipe section or ask carmenere for a recipe

Just make a thick lentil soup but add chopped bacon when you are sauteeing the onions at the beginning.

a touch of cumin and lemon juice goes nicely in a lentil/bacon soup, if you have either of those in the cupboard mmmm.
