Pea and ham soup - frozen peas and bacon??

I have bags of frozen peas in my minute freezer and want rid. So does anyone think/know a pea soup recipe that could use them up?

I was thinking, fry onion and bacon, add stock and peas, simmer, whizz. Or is it more complicated than that?

I'm pretty sure I've seen recipes in the sunday mags (Gordon Ramsey maybe) that used
frozen peas. Sounds good to me!
