I have loads of plums which have gone quite soft and thought i would make them into a crumble. Do I need to peel the plums? and would they need cooking first? Any advice grateful only ever made apple before. Many thanks.

I would have thought you could do it either way - I make rhubarb crumble without cooking the rhubarb first (Nigella recipe - cut into 1cm pieces and sprinkle with sugar, they soften down in cooking the crumble)

I'd just chop them and top with crumble then bake.

Enjoy!

halve them and take the stones out. You don't need to pre cook them - they will cook really quickly under the crumble
