My children (5 and 2) hate chard, but love pasta and pesto. So:
Swiss chard pesto. [Found on the net.]
The key to this is to call it just "pesto".
300g chard
2 cloves garlic
50g pine nuts
100g parmesan
olive oil
butter
Wash chard and shake it dry. Remove stalks. Sweat crushed garlic in oil and butter, then add the chopped stalks for 3 mins. Add the leaves and cook until they are well softened. Toast the pine nuts (in a frying pan). Remove from heat and stir in pine nuts and parmesan. Grind some pepper onto it. Blitz until it looks like pesto. Stir into cooked pasta. Serve with more parmesan. Delicious.
DD even wants it cold in her lunchbox tomorrow (she usually insists on cheese sandwiches).
