Canapes / nibbles to take to drinks party - what can I BUY without looking really crap?

Can't be bothered to make anything but don't want to turn up to DD1's first school class parents' get-together with a bag of crisps ...

Max effect with min effort please? Got Tesco's and M&S nearby, plus a nice cheese shop, decent deli and a branch of 'Cook'

Tray of dips (M&S or Finest probably better than Tesco Value) box of breadsticks, jar of olives.

Cakes

M&S bruschetine topped with some soft cheese (taleggio/brie) and a sndried tomato. Or some parma ham and a an olive. Buy ingredients and throw together on site.
