OK so if you are a complete novice at creative birthday cake making and then don't read the bottle, and put too much food colouring in icing, and then cover your cake in it before tasting it, and discover that it now tastes very very bitter, is it

a) poisonous?
b) likely to taste any better once it has dried/set? (pleeaassee)

a)Not poisonous
b) 'fraid will remain boaksome probably
c) Bring it out for candles and then 'disappear' into the kitchen to cut it up.... and replace it with M&S chocolate cake.

blooming heck - you did put alot in!

I doubt its poisonous and it probably won't taste any different when it's dried.

could you chip off all the icing and start again?

I just wanted to make red (rather than pink) icing, so plonked in about 8 teaspoons worth, for a smallish bowlfull. b*gger.

lol slur! Will have to. It does look good, though (We made a volcano, with lots of little cakes piled high, then (red) lava icing flowing down the sides.

So next time, how do I get red icing that it edible then?!
