it's not hard to make, but would cost a lot to buy all the ingredients

my kids love the slightly weird sounding combo of pasta with pesto, tuna and peas. It's surprisingly good. Also pasta with pesto and crispy bacon crumbled into it and cheese grated over the top.

or get some nice butchers sausages, remove skins and break up the meat into rough chunks, fry in olive oil and add tomato sauce.

Home made meatballs are really easy too. Use a mixture of finely chopped onion, bit of garlic, half pork mince, half beef mince, form into balls and coat in seasoned flour. Pour over a jar of dolmio type pasta sauce and bake in oven for about 45 mins, then spoon over pasta and top with grated cheese. Bloody lovely!

if they like frankfurters you could slice those up and mix with tomato based sauce

Tuna, garlic, lemon and olive oil.

If you can be bothered to add them, white wine, capers and parsley.

All mixed together and cooked. Nice with parmesen and black pepper.

Also green beans, bacon, tomatoes and garlic. Basil if you've got some. All mixed together. It's supposed to a side dish, but it's nice mixed with pasta.

MaryPOP's recipe with added capers and dill.
Fetta is fab with pasta.
Either crumbled into steamed spinach and olive oil tossed through the pasta, or added to courgettes which have been fried in chilli, garlic and cumin. Add a biq squeeze of lemon.
Mixed sauteed mushrooms are good too, with a slug of oil or cream and some flat leaf parsley.
