Bugger, have burnt the red cabbage by being out in the garden and forgetting it was on.

sod-tis my favourite bit.

Meat and potato pie with sauteed cabbage and leeks and green beans. Beef has been in slow cooker since about 9.

I was going to do roast chicken, but instead am doing chicken breasts in a lime peri peri and tequila marinade, with roast veg cous cous and soft totilllas.

And watermelon for pudding, again. I'm regretting buying a whole one, it's taking forever to eat.

I have bought one of the "Dine For £10" things from M&S, so that dp and dd2 can actually have some meat (poor depreived carnivores in a household where the chief cook is veggie).

They are having chicken breasts with lemon, parmesan and cherry tomatoes and that posh bacon stuff beginning with "p" that I can't spell, plus new potatoes and salad; dd1 and I are having leek and gruyere tarts with salad. Sticky toffee pudding for "afters" with icecream if they are very good. I got a bottle of wine as part of the deal too but we'll save that for Friday night I think, as neither of us are big drinkers.

As I don't have to cook tonight, I will do the prepping for a lentil soup for tomorrow, so that dp will just have to whack it in the slowcooker in the morning and I can actually get home from work to the smell of food!

Thanks, WasWondering. They had the chicken, or meatballs but I wanted salad, so I thought the chicken would go better with that. Good to hear it's nice!

Mercy · 14/09/2008 17:09

Mind you my local branch is not very good.
