This is lovely. And very cheap. Tim Atkin recommended it in a pull out wine thingy this week and I bought it today and drank it tonight and the verdict is that it is bloody nice for the price.

Sounds very pleasant Carmenere.

I am currently sipping away at a rather delicious Chilean red.

pointydog · 13/09/2008 22:26

lol @ thinking it was price per bottle

fishie · 13/09/2008 22:27

Carmenere · 13/09/2008 23:15

and great for the last-minute gift!

i'm going to get some and keep it in the utility room for when people stop over and i'm giftless.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/09/2008 23:26

Does anyone else keep a mental tally of price and alcohol percentage?

A sort of imaginary graph thingy with £ going along and %age going up?

Just me then?

I'll get me coat

Carmenere · 13/09/2008 23:26

I think it is great value, i am going to bring it with me to a bbq tomorrow. the only problem being that our Tesco has sold out already. and believe me there wouldn't be too many Guardian readers around here.
My neighbours got the last 3 bottles. I might have to try a different branch.

expatinscotland · 13/09/2008 23:27

percentage? that's right up there with counting units - why bother drinking it at all?

it's to be enjoyed, not calculated.

Carmenere · 13/09/2008 23:27

No Boys, what are the findings of your mental graph? Cheap wines strong or weak?

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 13/09/2008 23:28

well i wouldnt have been surprised if it had been 18.75

some people do have lots of spends

i thought being a wine buff it must be

a bargaibn for a good bottle of wine lol

BoysAreLikeDogs · 13/09/2008 23:30

The thing is I hardly ever drink, I buy for others.

I also check the size of dimple with my thumb.

I am a wierdo, no?

Carmenere · 13/09/2008 23:31

No I enjoy wine, am not a buff(but I am going to do a course this winter, more practical than pilates)

OP posts:
Carmenere · 13/09/2008 23:32

Afaik the dimple thing only applies to really expensive wine.
