Sorry my posts in this section are always about when I can make and sbsequently eat stuff! DS1's birthday is Thursday and we are planning to be at Marwell all day if not pissing down, and I have two jobs interviews tomorrow (eek) so only chance to make his cake is this afternoon. Will it be ok to store it till Thursday in a plastic box? Should I ice it now too?

TIA

What kind of cake ?

If normal sponge cake I'd be a bit worried about it going stale. Although royal icing all over should help keep it from drying out.

Pick your cake type - some types like fudge cake or ginger cake specify leaving 24-48 hours before eating. Would ice on the day tho.
