Shop brought Salmon - How long can it be stored in the freezer for?

It's been in there a year
I've defrosted it today, do you reckon its still good to cook & eat?

I would think it's now probably freezer burnt and will be dry. I've got some the same and I'm going to make a fish pie with it to use it up. Hth.
