I cook the same things week in week out. Meat and two veg usually or salad. Its just so boring.

Have got some lovely lamb steaks for tonight which i would usually cook with mash or roasts and lots of veg.

How can i spice it up a little???

Lamb Steak with TOmatoes and Olives

This is really really really good.

With ginger, cinnamon and apricots?

Soak some apricots and raisins, fry up some onion, garlic and cinnamon. Add the lamb and brown it, throw over some stock, simmer for about 40 minutes but don't let it dry out. Add the apricots and raisins and let it simmer for another 30 minutes or so, stirring and adding more water as needed.

I'd add a pinch of cumin to shitehawk's recipe to help bring out the cinnamon, and serve it with sweet potato mash and/or couscous.

Overmydeadbody · 20/08/2008 09:16

cinnamon works really well with lamb (and will give it a moroccan taste)

I was going to suggest poking it, but then I realised it was not alive and you were cooking it. Ooops!

Moroccan lamb Tagine

Obviously you'll need to adapt the recipe slightly as it used neck of lamb, but it gives you an idea of the spices and flavourings to use.

Right gonna try cider and honey tonight. Apricot one next week (think my kids will like that one) and lamb tagine week after. Have saved reciepes to my favourites.

Thank you kindly girls. Ill be back for some chicken reciepes soon.

Excellent.

Don't forget to report back and let us know how the cider and honey recipe was!

M&S doing a lovely Tagine paste in a jar.

All you do is chop up an onion, fry it off, add chopped up lamb (I used leg steaks last time I made this). When browned add 1/2 the jar of paste, a tin of tomatoes and a bit of water. I also add tin of chickpeas.

Put into oven for 1.5 hrs and serve with couscous. It is really tasty.
