I have three girls (8, 5, 2)

Breakfast:

orange juice
toast
fruit
yogurts

(they didnt ALL have all these things)

Snacks
Fruit
Toast

Lunch

more fruit

they will be gearing up for a snack in a minute

then

Supper

peas
raspberries and strawberries
with cream and sugar in two cases

then I usually make Somehting Else for dh and I but at least we can have fish pie tonight

I am in the kitchen for about 4 hours a day

Pannacotta · 19/08/2008 14:51

Have two DSs of 3 and 1 but agree I often feel like I have just finished clearing away from one meal or snack then its time to start on the next one.
I agree with Malory about lunch, they don't need two hot meals a day.
How about variations of sarnies eg toast with beans/hoops are you say, cheese on toast, potato waffles with ham/turkey and tom/cucumber salad, cold pizza or quiche, potato farls (can get from Waitrose and Sainsbury, v nice toasted with cheese/houmous etc), pittas with veg and meat or cheese filling. Mine love Finn Crisp with houmous or peanut butter etc.

Pannacotta · 19/08/2008 14:52

Oh and baked pots with nice filling/s are easy and always a hit with the DSs.

Enid I saw this t'other day but didn't get a chance to post.

Agree with malory, bin that hot lunch and hot dinner thang.

Mine have ceral, milk and fruit for breakfast.

Lunch: sandwich, salad, fruit; if lucky hummous, mini samosas or similar. Takes 5 mins (well maybe 10).

Tea; hot but quick - pasta in home made tommato sauce, sausages, veg and potatoes, chicken risotto, pasta with broccoli and cheese, pasta and bolognaise sauce.

None of these takes more than about 15 mins prep and then leave to cook while you fetch in washing/hoover living room/hear DS2 read
