I amde a chicken casserole it has been cooking for 3.5 hours ,a piece of chicken I was eating looked a bit pink not raw pink but not quite cooked pink [eek].

I am feeling a bit gippy now but that is just paranoia isn't it .......isn't it????

Was it a joint piece ? Meat from thighs, legs, wings etc doesn't go white however long you cook. 3.5 hours is plenty

Imnotok · 18/08/2008 17:44

IT was chicken breast pieces

3.5 hours should cook anything! What temperature was the oven?

Imnotok · 18/08/2008 17:47

Did you have any bacon in the casserole? If you cook chicken with bacon touching it, it often stays pink

Lazarou · 18/08/2008 17:50

I should think it was done. I also feel a bit when I see a bit that looks pink, but no poisoning here so far and we eat a lot of chicken.

No bacon ,just veggies . Feel like I am on a boat waiting for the seasickness to kick in

some cheapo chickens from tesco seem to do this no matter how long i cook them for. never poisoned anyone eating them yet.

Don't worry - i thought I had done this yesterday, but we are all still standing and alive without the dramatic weightloss of salmonella
