Pork Crackling - Salt or Oil on first??

Or any other tips to get lovely crackling

I do oil then salt. Not nessacerily Olive Oil, I use Veg oil then massage it in, getting right in the grooves.

i heard boiling water over it the night before, then salt the next day??

or possibly salt at the same time - can't remember anymore than boiling water - it was anthony worrell thompson btw

Just salt. Don't get oil thing. It's greasy enough.

We got 3 extra bits of crackling thrown in with the joint, how should i cook that? Just in the roasting tin round the meat?
