how do icook this chicken ive just paid 10 quid for?

its just over 4lb, does 180c for 2 and a hour hours sound right to you?

fan or normal oven?

i want to mke it really nice for my dd as shes been ill all week
so i will be grateful for your help.

for approx 1.5 hours. baste once/twice with the juices.

you will know if cooked as if you stick a nife in it the juices should run clear.

the exact weight is 2 kg which i think is 4.4 lbs.

rub with butter& herbs stuff if you fancy it. cover with tin foil. bung in preheated oven (gasmark 5) baste every 20-30 mins, for around 1 hour 30 mins. then remove foil turn up to gm 7 and roast until juices run clear and the legs come away from the body with ease.

nigel slater has a lovely roast chick risotto recipe if you want to make the most of the left overs.

Chuck some par boiled potatoes in to roast in its juices and make proper gravy as well! Forget the calories I think you deserve a treat to get over the cost of it!
