Can I part cook BBQ meat the day before?

Chicken drumsticks and sausages. Was going to part cook in oven and keep in fridge until next day. Then finish on bbq. Do you think that is OK?

Marinade good idea. Usually I part cook in oven then take straight out to finish on bbq but having quite a few people round so just thinking about preparing in advance. Dont want to poison anyone tho.
