Want to make homemade burgers but i've forgotten the

eggs to bind them. Do you really need them and, if so, what can I replace them with? Really cannot be arsed going back to the shops!

I never use eggs. Just form the mince and put in the fridge so they firm up. They should be fine! I need to go and make some myself - we're BBQing tonight!

Learned a brill tip from a friend who's done a BBQ course. You need neither egg nor breadcrumbs, just knead each burger between your hands for a short while and then shape it. It'll stick together brilliantly, even on BBQ.

I use a tablespooon of oats (made into a paste with a little water) to bind my mincemeat ..

Just shape the mince and cook!

Or add in whatever you want to flavour it with, herbs, cheese, chillies, bit of salt and pepper, etc.
