what other homemade sweeties can I add to these?

Instead of the usual shop bought rubbish, I decided to make homemade sweeties for the staff at my daughter's pre-school.

I have made a selection of sweeties to put in some little boxes I bought in a sugarcraft shop.

I need to make some more though

So far, I have made:

vanilla fudge
brandy truffles
peppermint creams
cherry and almond chewy bites
choc and nut mini biscuits

There is a bit of room left in each box so I need to make one more item

Any ideas please (including recipes please!)???

Truffles

50G BUTTER
80ML CREAM
100G DARK CHOCOLATE-CHOPPED
100G DARK/MILK/WHITE CHOCOLATE,GRATED.

1 cOMBINE BUTTER AND CREAM IN SMALL PAN.sTIR OVER LOW HEAT UNTIL BUTTER MELTED.bRING TO BOIL AND REMOVE FROM HEAT IMMEDIATELY.

2 pLACE CHOPPED CHOC IN HEATPROOF BOWL AND POUR IN HOT CREAM MIXTURE.cOVER BOWL FOR 1 MIN AND STIR UNTIL CHOC MELTED AND RESULTING LIQUID SMOOTH.aDD ANY FLAVOURS IF NEEDED AT THIS POINT (IE VANILLA/ORANGE/STRAWBERRY ESSENCE) (OPTIONAL).aLLOW MIXTURE TO COOL IN FRIDGE.

3 WHEN MIXTUER COOL ROLL HEAPED TEASPOONSFUL INTO BALLS (MAKES 24 ISH)

4 ROLL BALLS IN GRATED CHOC.pLACE ON FOIL LINED TRAY AND PUT IN FRIDGE UNTIL COMPLETELY FIRM.wILL SAVE UP TO 3 WEEKS OIN FRIDGE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.

chocolate coconut squares

2 blocks plain/milk chocolate
tin condensed milk
250g coconut (presume dessicated?)
6oz butter/marg
6oz icing sugar

melt chocolate, put half into bottom of dish
mix butter and icing sugar
add condensed milk
add coconut
spread onto chocolate layer
when set add top layer chocolate

Choc-marshmallow bites?

400G DARK CHOCOLATE
250G MARSHMALLOWS
160G UNSALTED ROASTED PEANUTS
100G GLACE CHERRIES

lINE BASE OF 7X11 INCH TIN WITH FOIL.
2 PLACE CHOC IN MEDIUM HEATPROOF BOWL OVER PAN OF SIMMERING WATER AND STIR TIL CHOC MELTED.
SPREAD A QUARTER OF CHOC OVER BASE OF TIN PLACE OTHER INGREDIENTS RANDOMLY OVER CHOCOLATE.
POUR REST OF CHOC ON TOP.
PUT IN FRIDGE FOR 20 MINS UNTIL SET.

Thanks everyone. Can't add more as I have had to make 12 boxes (don't ask!!!) and so I have used up all that I have made splitting it between those 12. Need to add 2 more cases to each box to fill.

pinkveto - how much is 2 blocks of chocolate?

How much do you like chocolate?

I'm afraid this is a classic recipe from my mother, so as usual you're left guessing.

Probably 200g.

Although she'd have it in ounces

I'd think 2 blocks of chocolate would be 400g? the average bar/block of choc os 200g.

oh yes madlentil is right, good quality dried fruit dipped in dark chocolate is divine and very impressive looknig! Hotel Chocolate change a fortune for their chocolate dipped fruit.

How about some Honeycomb?

225g (8oz) Sugar
300ml (½ pint) Cold Water
1 tbsp Golden Syrup
1 tsp Warm Water
½ tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
½ tsp Cream of Tartar

Place the sugar, water, golden syrup and cream of tartar into a heavy bottomed saucepan, heat gently until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Boil the mixture without stirring, to a temperature of 154°C (310°F).
Remove from the heat to prevent further cooking.
Quickly mix the bicarbonate of soda with the warm water and add to the sugar mixture, stirring gently.
Pour the mixture into a 18cm by 28cm (7inch by 11 inch) non-stick baking tray to a depth of at least 2.5cm (1 inch).
Allow to cool for a few minutes before marking into bars or squares.

It doesn't keep for long though before becoming soft.

yes...nordic dried fruit....you throw them over your shoulder and then look to see what pattern they make...

will do but camera out of charge right now. Took 9 boxes in to my daughter's pre-school this morning and no-one believed I had made them!

Would love to sell them but no idea where to start
