Scottish cooks: stovies recipe please.

I need a recipe for stovies to be served with oatcakes. Can anyone help?

ja9 - I lived near Aberdeen for a lot of my childhood too. The stovies there had to be tasted to believed, didn't they? I made them for my kids and dh recently - they're better made with beef chunks and a couple of stock cubes. Mmmm....

Hi waswondering!!

i used toothaches recipe.... altho' felt i was being slightly disloyal to dear old 'eber-deen' by not using beef chunks. They were scrummy (i added a bit of gravy to them too), especially with the beetroot and cracked pepper oatcakes i got.

however, i am positively sick of them now... . stovie overload i'm afraid!
