Party food for 3 year old DS party - have I missed anything?

My DS is 3 on Thursday and we are having a party for all his friends on Sunday.

I was thinking of doing:-

Mini hotdogs
Sandwiches (ham, cheese - what else?)
grapes
strawberries
carrot sticks
cucumber sticks
crisps
cocktail sausages and/or mini sausage rolls?

I have a feeling I have forgotten something but don't know what! Any other suggestions would be gratefully received.

Should I do a pudding like jelly and ice cream or is cake enough?

TIA

Where's the sweet stuff?

Chocolate fingers, party rings....

I am interested in mini hotdogs, d'you buy little rolls or what?

MakemineaGandT · 07/07/2008 10:54

some kind of breadstick/biscuits

You could do cheese cubes

Don't bother with pudding - maybe some strawberries or melon pieces or somwthing

Oh, and don't forget something for the adults - bagels quite a good option

I have got chocolate fingers and was thinking of buying party rings - thanks for reminding me!

PMSL, yea get some cakes and sweets in FGS!

cadelaide · 07/07/2008 10:55

They do love jelly and ice cream but it's a bit of a faff.

namechangenamechange · 07/07/2008 10:56

I wouldn't bother with the cocktail sausages if you're doing mini hot dogs, just do some sausage rolls.

cheese and pineapple?
jam sandwiches instead of ham if you're doing mini hotdogs?

What about a plate of mini cakes, biscuits, sweets instead of the birthday cake and put the birthday cake in the party bag?

cadelaide · 07/07/2008 10:56

well done mishy, party rings are compulsory

mishymoo · 07/07/2008 10:57

Breadsticks are a good idea and so are cheese cubes!

Cadelaide, You can buy little square rolls or I might buy ordinary hot dog rolls and cut them in half. If my DS is anything to go by, I think they might go down very well (well am hoping anyway)!

could do jam in sarnies too...kids love jam sandwiches!

party rings are a must have!!!

could do a few little bowls of fruit for sweetness, but personally i wouldn't bother with jelly...it gets very messy!

as long as they have a few biscuits, it should be fine.

have a great day!

mishymoo · 07/07/2008 10:59

I was going to put the cake in the party bags anyway. Do you think I should make some cup cakes as well?

oops..x posted!

not necessarily cupcakes as well, maybe jaffa cakes to go with party rings and choc fingers, or those marshmallowy cakey things?

cadelaide · 07/07/2008 13:50

I think teensy hot dogs is a great idea, they love small stuff don't they?
