Have been wanting to cook short ribs for a while, but typically now I have bought some, I can’t find the recipe I thought I had earmarked.

So, any recommendations please?

I saw Anna Haugh make some short ribs on tv and downloaded the recipe from Good Food - it's listed under 'Beef Short Ribs and Colcannon'. I haven't tried the recipe yet but they looked delicious.

Sorry, not Good Food, it was BBC Food.

I make short ribs quite often and the trick really is just time, they do ask for a bit of patience. I brown them hard first, then braise at 160 for a good 3 hours with onion, carrot, bay leaves, a decent glug of red wine and beef stock, until they're properly falling apart. The cabbage you mentioned is ideal alongside, I braise mine in a bit of the cooking liquor with a knob of butter right at the end.
