Canned tuna recipes

I’m looking for some ideas for recipes that I can use canned tuna for please.

We already make tuna pasta bake regularly so ideally nothing like that.

Years ago I used to make tuna quiche and fish cakes but the recipes I’ve tried recently don’t taste quite how I remember them.

Just a guess, are you using tuna in water rather than in oil ?

Tuna and chickpea curry

Two tins tuna
Tin chopped tomatoes
Frozen or fresh spinach
Tin drained rinsed chickpeas
Curry powder
Bouillon powder to taste

Basically cook it all together in a pan. It's absolutely delicious.

DH has his with rice, I eat it on its own. Even tastier the day after for lunch.

Oh I forgot. I also slice and fry a red onion into it too.

DC2 uses tinned tuna as a baked potato topping/filling; tuna in spring water (drained) mixed with a bit of mayonnaise, finely sliced spring onion, grated cheese on top and bung in the oven

Mix tuna in olive oil (4 packs from Waitrose are good and not too expensive) with canned butter beans or similar. Add parsley and whatever salad you like, either on the side or mixed in

@Bjorkdidit Oh yes - the Tuscan tuna and bean salad! I occasionally make this during the summer months but using Delia's version (but with shortcuts)

One of my favourite pasta dishes!
Cook spaghetti / linguine - whatever you are using. Al dente
Drain the tuna (naice tuna even better but normal fine)
Fry some black pepper (lots of it) and 3 cloves of garlic (mince or chopped) with a generous glug of Olive oil.
Also nice to add some chilli flakes if you like it a bit hot.
Add the tuna and heat through.
Add one jar of passata per tin of tuna, some salt, loads of black pepper.
Add a little of the pasta water and a squeeze of lemon juice.
simmer for 10-20 mins.
You can add black olives / capers, more chilli … whatever you want.

Serve with your pasta, black pepper and loads of Parmesan.

mmmmm

Tuna, butter beans, red onion, sliced radishes, chopped parsley, vinaigrette. Great as a meal with bread or little gem leaves to scoop it up, just as nice on a baked potato.

This is a little niche but I really like it! Finely chop and fry a red onion, finely diced courgette, a pepper and a can of sweetcorn. Add a tin of tuna, a really good glug of balsamic vinegar, fresh parsley and plenty black pepper. Use mix to stuff half a hollowed out red pepper. Top with cheese and breadcrumbs and bake.
