Food alert for Longley Farm cottage cheese lovers.
I've not been able to get it for ages, so got this to try, not being hopeful, but it's great, thick, creamy and delicious.

I absolutely love Longley Farms (full fat) cottage cheese. No other cottage cheese I’ve tried even comes close. But it seems really difficult to get hold of lately. I will give this a try, where did you get it from?

I got it from Sainsbury's.
I thought, like you, that it would be watery and rubbish, but it's not.
I'm still hoping for LF back, but I promise this is great.

We're keeping it all for ourselves here in Yorkshire. It's available in every shop here, I even saw some in Heron yesterday. Not sorry.

You'll just have to move here, it's the only solution.

You're right about no other brand comparing. I even tried Estate dairy a few weeks ago, which looked promising, but nope, not a patch.

Yep.
I live 7 or 8 miles from the dairy, I get it in the corner shop.

I tried one called Alter Ego last week which was good, creamy and a nice flavour. I think I prefer it to All Things Cottage Cheese which is what I had switched to when I couldn't get Longley Farm anywhere apart from the farm shop selling it at £3.

There's also an organic one called Oma that's really nice

Has anyone tried making it? It looks really simple.

I like all things and also the Lidl own brand full fat is really thick

No, although I was given a cheesemaking kit a couple of years ago that I'm still working my way through. There is a recipe in there for cottage cheese, which I must try, so thanks for the reminder.

I have. First time was successful the second not so much.
My local Sainsburys sells Grahams which is pretty good, and All Things cottage cheese which I really like

Found LF in M&S again this week but expensive compared to when it was 3 for £5 in Iceland.

Copperoliverbear · 01/10/2026 19:26

Lindah’s.

Copperoliverbear · 01/10/2026 19:27

Or all things. Cottage cheese.

TheChosenTwo · 01/10/2026 19:29

Yes All Things is really great, I buy LF on ocado but if it’s out of stock I’ll happily substitute it with this. Really nice and thick/stiff.

M&S sell Longley Farm as do Spar (weird, I know). My local Costcutter occasionally has it and I've seen it in an expensive farm shop locally too. I'm just gutted that Home Bargains no longer sell it for £1.09 as it's nearly triple that everywhere else, bar Costcutter.
I tried making my own and it was OK but not as good as LF.
I have worked my way through every supermarket cottage cheese and they all have the texture and taste of knotty yoghurt so have ruled them all out.
