Just had to comment on Sainsbury’s moussaka ,was absolutely disgusting. Tasteless pile of slop !! How the hell do they get away with this!! Never usually buy ready meals and I certainly won’t ever buy from them again.

You could add a question mark to the title of your thread!

Ready meals????

@Pineneedlesincarpet that seems like an unusual correction of SPAG since she got the word ready mixed up with really, I think the question mark is further down on the list 😁

OP some of them can be ok, usually the more expensive Charlie Bingham or new Rana pasta selection. Itsu do a good little selection of non processed ones.

Its usually just as fast to get some fresh pasta/tortellini and a quick fresh sauce or the stirfry deal tbh

Yes sorry. I was trying to be funny but it obviously didn't work!

I haven't had the moussaka from sainsbury's, but I think sometimes with ready meals, if you do it in the oven rather than the microwave and add a bit of seasoning or extra cheese it helps.

I thought it was funny😃

I always think certain ready meals work better than others. Layered dishes like moussaka, lasagne and cannelloni are the worst, with everything bleeding together into an unappealing lumpen mess. Some of the Indian dishes are ok. I only buy them once in a while when I really can’t be arsed. I often wonder who on earth they tested them on when some of them are so close to inedible.

We don’t eat ready meals much, and even less these days as the quality seems to have gone downhill in proportion with the prices going up hill. Last fish pie we had should have been called “mash and sauce pie with a smudge of fish and forget the prawns”.
We did once have a remarkably good lasagne from I think Lidl. Then the horse-meat scandal broke, and we deduced why the lasagne had been so good!
