Looking for some really good oven gloves!

My pans and casserole dishes are all cast iron so they get really hot. I'm a bit fed up of constantly getting burnt through basic oven mitts or occasionally getting scorch marks on the fabric.

It used to be fine, I had an old pair of oven gloves that insulated really well, but they eventually disintegrated and the new ones I buy just don't do the job well.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a really good pair of heat resistant oven gloves that have passed the test please?

I’ve got silicone mittens, joined together by fabric just like the old fashioned kind. The silicone is really is really really thick, and you can't feel the heat through it. Don't get those silly little ones that just go the fingers. Sorry don't have a link, I' e had them several years (still going strong). They have a section for your four fingers and one for your thumb.

I have a pair of these KitchenAid ones that have silicon bands over the fabric and I use them with my cast iron regularly with no problem. Even when I'm using the cast iron on the bbq, which gets much hotter than my oven.

I was given these professional grade ones for Christmas, and they're the best I've ever had. The thumb opening means you have a lot more grip than if it's just a square, you can't feel a thing through them, and they protect my forearms as well as my hands which is helpful in case of splashes or catching the front of my arm on the edge of a baking tray. The only downside is they don't have a loop to hang them, but I'm planning to sew a loop into each one for that.

I came on to see what was recommended here as I’ve been searching for new oven gloves. Sadly the fabulous ones that I got free from a Lurpak promotion many many years ago have finally started to wear through.

Agree! They're the best oven gloves I've ever had: soft, flexible, really heat resistant, and last ages. Highly recommend, we're on our second pair now and they're still going strong.
