Dust it in corn flour, then marinate in soy, ginger, chilli, garlic etc (whatever asian flavours you like) and air fryer - delicious!

Dust in cornflour, fry until crispy. Remove from pan. Fry up 2 peppers. Make your sauce: 1.5tbsp brown sugar, 4 cloves garlic crushed, thumb size piece ginger grated, 1tbsp each of sweet chilli sauce and rice vinegar, 2 tbsp soy sauce and ketchup, sprinkle of dried red chillies. Add tofu and sauce back to the pan and cook until sauce has thickened. I like to serve with sliced spring onions and sticky rice

The only place tofu belongs is in the bin 😎.

I slice it, brush on sesame oil and some garlic salt and cook it for a good 10 minutes in the airfryer on full heat, turn halfway through.

You can season it with anything really as it’s so bland.

I use to think that but it’s definitely growing on me.

I'm glad it has. But I honestly don't see it happening for me. I don't eat tofu often enough to be able to develop a tolerance for it. I don't think there's a point in doing it either as I'm not a vegetarian - I can just get my protein from meats, poultry, seafood and eggs :).

I can understand that - as a vegetarian I’ve had to develop a tolerance and it’s taken a while! It’s the texture that I still find off putting - it’s so soft no matter how much you nuke it, but it’s getting easier 😄

I cut it into cubes, dust with 5 spice, and use in fried rice or chow mein . I also do it in cubes, fried and added to a ramen. When I go for Chinese I order it with black bean sauce but I've never found the perfect one for home cooking.

I like Tofu Bacon - I use Cauldron - press to get water out, then slice into half cm slices. Soak the slices in mixture of olive or other oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, a tiny bit of honey, bit of lemon, lime juice or vinegar for a little tang, bit of tomato purée, liquid smoke if you’ve got it, pepper, bit of Tabasco, mustard - you don’t need all of these, just oil, soy and maple/honey woild do. Let the liquid soak in for a few hours and grill til a bit crispy and rubbery. I have it with a cooked breakfast but I also add crumbled it to split pea soup; and put it BLT sandwich, it’s nicer the day after. I absolutely love tofu.

The Tofoo brand isn’t calcium set (or wasn’t a few years afgo) so not so nutritious but I eat the smoked tofu raw - it’s lovely with roast veg in a wrap.
