Do any of you ever cook a beef joint in a slow cooker? I've always done in oven so any tips as would like to try in a slow cooker tomorrow? Thx

Depends what it is. Brisket - absolutely. Silverside - mm, yes. Rib - just NO! 😄

Brisket, carrot batons, onion quarters, chunks of Celery, any of parsley, marjoram, oregano, thyme, maybe a whole chilli, beef stockpot and four tbsp of liquid, a combination of Henderson's Relish, soy sauce, malt or Balsamic vinegar.

Prepare tonight and then whack it in the slow cooker tomorrow morning. Be guided by your slow cooker. I cook for 5 hours on High.

That needs to go in the oven as a PP has said.

Yes, we always cook ours in the slow cooker. Seal the joint in a frying pan first with some red wine then chuck it in slow cooker with some beef stock pots-delicious!

I did slow cook the same as you ,I was up very early and it has cooked after 4.5 hours and it is really tender .
Plus I now get to have the rest of the red wine left !

Love to do that in the slow cooker but I always roast in case it doesn’t come out like I hoped. Always silverside. Well done to a crisp.
